Privacy, in plain language
Your photographs stay on your device.
CutNegs processes scans locally. It never uploads your photographs or sends information that identifies your files. This notice explains the small aggregate counters used to understand whether the app is useful.
Photos and files
Image detection, cropping, straightening and export happen on your device. Your originals are preserved.
CutNegs does not send photographs, image contents, filenames, file paths, EXIF data, account information, email addresses, feedback text or hardware serial numbers as analytics.
Usage analytics
When usage analytics is enabled, CutNegs sends small counter updates about app use and processing outcomes. These include successful runs, repeat use, output actions, automatic or manual crop counts and detector confidence grouped into broad ranges.
There is no session recording, automatic click tracking, location enrichment or persistent installation identifier. A one-use report ID prevents a retry from being counted twice.
This website
When website analytics is enabled, clicking the download button sends one event to the same EU-hosted PostHog project used for CutNegs metrics. The site does not count page views or use cookies, browser storage, session recording, advertising trackers or a unique visitor identifier.
How counters are handled
The app sends counter updates to a CutNegs aggregation service, which combines contributions before sending totals to PostHog. PostHog receives the service’s network address rather than your device’s address.
The website sends its fixed download event directly to PostHog. PostHog and network providers receive a source IP address to carry that request, but the event contains no IP field and location enrichment is disabled. App and website events are not joined to identify a person. Combined analytics in PostHog are retained for up to 90 days.
Feedback
Website support directs you to the feedback form inside CutNegs. Nothing is submitted from this website. The app sends feedback only when you choose Send. A submission contains your category and message, plus a reply email or reviewed screenshot only if you add them. Feedback is handled by Sentry in the EU and is not joined with analytics.
Your choice
You can turn usage analytics off at any time under CutNegs Settings → Usage analytics. Turning it off stops collection, cancels delivery and deletes analytics waiting to be sent from your device. Previously combined totals cannot be withdrawn because they are not connected to a persistent identity.
Contact and rights
Before analytics is enabled, this notice will identify the person or organisation operating CutNegs and provide a public privacy contact. You can use that contact to ask a privacy question or exercise rights that apply where you live.
